Our specialized cell culture media support the growth, expansion, and functional maintenance of stem cell for research, cell therapy development, and bioprocessing applications. Serum-free formulations help improve consistency, reduce variability, and streamline downstream workflows.
How to Choose a Stem-Cell Serum-Free Medium
These formulations are designed primarily for human mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) from sources such as umbilical cord, bone marrow, and adipose tissue.
- MH01: Choose MSC Serum-Free Medium MH01 for a fully serum-free, xeno-free, and phenol-red-free workflow without serum-replacement supplementation. It is suitable for primary MSC isolation, routine expansion, multiple-passaging workflows, and defined manufacturing processes.
- MH02: Choose MSC Serum-Free Medium MH02 when your process uses a preferred serum substitute. MH02 requires approximately 2% serum-replacement supplementation and provides greater flexibility when transferring or optimizing an existing MSC culture process.
- RF01 Recombinant Trypsin:OptiVitro® Recombinant Trypsin Digestive Solution RF01 is a cell-dissociation reagent—not a culture medium. It contains no animal-derived components and can be paired with MH01 or MH02 for gentle, animal-component-free MSC passaging.
For a new MSC source, compare suitable formulations using attachment, morphology, doubling time, viability, surface-marker retention, and differentiation potential. See the stem-cell media product table and manufacturer’s MH01/MH02 comparison.
